Landlords Sue Over Rental Unit Fees

Rental unit fee challenged in City of East ClevelandAn interesting situation has come to light in East Cleveland, Ohio that we think landlords in Northeast, Ohio should keep an eye on. According to a recent Cleveland.com article, two landlords are challenging the city of East Cleveland in court regarding that city’s recent and significant increase in annual rental unit fees. As reported, East Cleveland raised the fee charged per rental unit from $10 to $100, a tenfold increase! The city claims their rental unit fees are in line with other cities in the area.
